ALIEN REGISTRATION CARD

New Residence Card Starting from April 1, 2023

Your ARC card will state your ARC Number, gender, full name, nationality, visa type, registry date and expiry date.

Any changes in matters registered?
YOU MUST REPORT TO THE IMMIGRATION OFFICE or VISIT YOUR LOCAL DISTRICT CENTRE within 15 days of any changes.
*Name, Gender, DOB, Nationality/Passport No. DOI, Expiry date
*Place of stay
*Change and Addition of workplace
*Granting Status of Stay etc.

After you receive ARC, You will be able to..

  • Activate/Open bank account and card
  • Get a cellphone
  • Claim health care benefits
  • Purchasing goods online using a card and a cell phone

NEW TEACHERS: Applying for ARC

Foreigners staying in Korea for more than 90 days must register for an ARC at a local immigration office within 90 days from the date of entry. Simply receiving your visa is not the last step to registration, and those with visas must receive an ARC to finalize their sojourn documentation. It is illegal to stay in korea for more than 90 days without being registered, regardless of your visa at entry. Please ensure to check for the most recent information at http://hikorea.go.kr before you visit, or by calling 1345.

We will provide all paper works and information on an EPIK orientation day.
This is applicable if you are new to Korea or returning on a new E-2 visa.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR E2:
  • Application form
  • 1 Passport photo (3.5cm x 4.5cm)
  • Passport
  • 1 Original contract copy
  • Proof of Residency *will be provided by your local office
    • For school provided housing:
      • 1. a copy of rental contract from your local office of edu.
      • 2. a proof of residency(거주/숙소제공 확인서)
      • 3. Business Registration of your local office of edu. (지역교육청 사업자등록증)
    • If you are receiving housing allowance
      • 1. a copy of the rental contract (only if its signed with your name on)
  • Jeollabukdo Office of Education's Business Registration
    *A copy of our business registration will be provided. Understand that you may face legal responsibilities if you make unauthorized copies, including digital copies, and share them with others at your discretion.
  • Application Fee: 30,000 KRW in cash
New EPIK transferring within Korea:
  • It is your responsibility to get ready your visa by the beginning of the contract with us.
    Within 14 days of your new contract, Make sure to report any of your changes to the immigration office
    eg. work place, place of stay

Renewing Residence Card

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO GET "E-2-2 VISA". FROM 2022, E2 VISA HAS BEEN SEPARATED INTO E-2-2(EPIK&CPIK) AND E-2-1(other recruitment)

When you are renewing your contract with us, you will need to renew your ARC depending on your visa type. You need to renew your residence card 4 months or less from its expiry date.

You can renew your visa online or in person.
Before visiting the immigration office, Please let your co-teacher/school know so they can record/sort out your attendance.

*Visits only related to the renewal will be recorded as "business trip"
*Any other personal reasons will be "paid leave"

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR RENEWING
  • Residence Card
  • Application fee: Online(50,000KRW) or In person (60,000KRW)
  • 1 new contract *will be provided on the signing day
  • Jeollabukdo Office of Edu. Business registration *will be provided on the signing day
  • Certificate of Income Amount (소득금액증명서)
    *will be provided on the signing day. If you need an extra copy, This form is available at the immigration office or on the hikorea website
  • Foreigner Occupation and annual income report form
    *will be provided on the signing day. If you need an extra copy,This form is available at the immigration office or on the hikorea website
  • Invoice of withholding tax (원천징수영수증) *from your local office of edu.
  • Proof of Residency
    *will be provided by your local office
    • For school provided housing:
      • 1. a copy of rental contract from your local office of edu.
      • 2. a proof of residency(거주/숙소제공 확인서)
      • 3. Business Registration of your local office of edu. (지역교육청 사업자등록증)
    • If you are receiving housing allowance
      • 1. a copy of the rental contract (only if its signed with your name on)
  • Class Schedule *Your name must be presented

Please ensure that the immigration requirements can change also sometimes the immigration officers ask for additional documents.

Lost your Residence Card?

If you have lost your ARC, You will need to visit the immigration office to apply new one.
Do this as soon as possible. You should make an appointment

You will need to bring:
  • Application Form
    You should check the "Re-issuance of Registration Card" at the top of the application
  • 30 000 KRW in cash
  • Your passport
  • A passport photo with a white background

All procedures will be similar to applying ARC for the first time
